Always confirm the tire manufacturer’s approved rim-width range, load index, and inflation before purchase. Vehicle clearance — leveling kit, lift, fenders, and dual spacing — is separate from wheel-width compatibility. Many 12.50-inch flotation tires list an 8.5-inch published minimum; 8.25 inches sits at the narrow edge of that window and produces extra sidewall bulge.

P-metric and Standard Load versions of the same size carry far less weight and are not recommended for Super Duty, towing, or payload work.

Fitment Notes for 22 × 8.25
- Best width window: 255–275 mm (about 10.0"–10.8").
- Acceptable with extra bulge: 285–295 mm and 11.50"–12.50" flotation. A 12.50" tire on 8.25" will sit narrower at the bead and balloon at the sidewall.
- Height: 32"–33" is typically stock or mild level on HD trucks running 22s. 34"–35" usually needs a level kit. 37" usually needs a lift and a clearance check.
- Load: Specify LT construction. Use Load Range E on metric sizes and Load Range F on 12.50" flotation when towing or hauling. Do not substitute P-metric / SL tires of the same size.
- 12.50" caution: Most 33×12.50R22, 35×12.50R22, and 37×12.50R22 spec sheets list 8.5"–11.0" as the approved rim range. 8.25" is 0.25" under that published minimum on many models — verify the exact tire before mounting.
